Goodbye to ugly skin

Sure you've got the hat, gloves, scarves, thick clothes. But then there's the itchiness, dryness and flakiness that you feel creeping on your skin. It's the most bothersome feeling to have on the body during this time of the year and we need to combat it.  As I was getting dressedmy skin felt almost dehydrated & I know that I'm not the only one.

Here are my ways of keeping skin happy and moisturized:

Lotion.  Go to your nearest store and buy a big bottle of lotion and a small one to carry with you. Lotion can give the fast relief you need whenever and wherever you are. You don't have to spend much, but being able to rub a little bit can let move around in peace.

My favorite?

Moisturizing Soap. Most people don't think of their soap having any effect on their skin but it has a tremendous impact long term. If you don't buy soap that has lotion or moisturizing properties, you'll notice that your skin feels a lot of paper - dry and thin. Using this kind of soap or body wash during the winter can help avoid putting on lotion on a daily basis, instead giving you day long relief.

My favorite?

Vaseline. I don't know what it is exactly about petroleum jelly, but the stickiness and non fragrant substance makes for a perfect straight-to-the-point skin relief. Just rubbing it all over yourself can make your skin feel normal once again and the stuff really does last long. Best part? Vaseline can be just for about any body part. Legs, feet, face, lips, arms, hands, elbows, name it.

My favorite?

Sharks for $978?

A pair of gloves for $978 and made out of sharks? That’s what Twitter said with more than 245 retweets.  Now I love a beautiful pair of gloves but to pay for a pair that will shred my hands if I remove them - No thank you.

How much will do you spend on gloves this winter? Will anyone actually wear these gloves?

Check out the post on Twitter and let me know down below in the comments.

Until next post everyone.

Clear Your Winter Blues

Scrolling through my Twitter feed today I noticed that people were talking about #WinterPerks. Looking through the tag I found that there are some perks with the freezing weather. Since everyone gets the winter blues, I wanted to share a few of those tag responses to brighten your day. Enjoy.

1.  Never having to shave your legs. #Winter perks

2.  Love wearing layers. #Winterperks

3.  A good book, some warming light & something to snuggle up in. #Winterperks

Can you think of any perks that come with winter? Let me know in the comments and have a warm day until next post.

Go Ahead, Dress Like a Mess

People on Twitter lately have been complaining that they can't dress as sharp as others in the media.  Actors dress impeccable on television, models look flawless through a magazine and don't get me started on the amount of 'perfect' winter outfits on every social media site.

Truth? You don't have to dress like any of them. You can dress like a "mess" and get away with it. An awesome hat and a warm sweater is all you need to make getting dressed easy. Best part? You can always customize them.

                                                       Here's some examples:

Warm sweater? Check. Sleek and warm boots? Check.

Black hats - Modern, well fitted and for everyone. You can't go wrong.

So go on dress like a mess if you'd like - just keep it simple and good looking so you'll never fail.

What kind of hats and sweaters you buy? Let me know in the comments below. Until next post everyone.

Warmth + Fuzz = Happiness

During this time there's nothing more anyone wants than to be happy and warm. In fact if you're not warm, there's no point of doing anything but playing a hard game of survivor until spring arrives.Even Twitter users seem to agree as a new trending topic called Fuzzy has been circulating, and everyone's sharing their thoughts.

Now everyone can give you a list of ways you can stay warm but here's two simple ways:

1. Fuzzy socks

Soft, cozy, stretchy, pillows on your feet. These fun yet practical footwear have been known to keep smiles on faces all throughout the fall and winter. They can be worn indoors, outdoors and come in numerous colors. By keeping your feet warm you'll avoid frozen toes and keep your body's temperature balanced. (Warm body but cold feet? Not the best.)

You can get them literally ANYWHERE - local 99 cent store, drug store, department store, mall and you can get them starting for 1$ at Target!

2.  Hot chocolate

Nobody hates chocolate and it certainly doesn't suck.  It just doesn't - and your body certainly doesn't either when its 30 degrees outside.

Hot chocolate is a staple for chilly weather and by far the most popular. It can be enjoyed anytime of the day - morning, lunch or late at night. It's easy to make (hot milk and some chocolate powder under 2 minutes) and makes for great conversation. You can go to your local supermarket or your favorite cafe to get it personalized. Top it off? Marshmallows. Whip cream. Chocolate chunks. Chocolate syrup. The list never ends.

I  always take part in these rituals - do you? Let me know and have a warm day.  Until next post everyone.

Your Favorite Time of the Year is Here

If you're on instagram you may know about #winteriscoming and someone mentioned the holiday season. And when its holiday season, it's the best time of the year.

The holiday season makes for a great winter and here's a few reasons why:
  • If it's not cold, you can't celebrate the holidays. Obviously.
  • You'll get presents for being stuck in the cold. Who doesn't love getting presents?  Nobody that's who.
  • You'll be able to watch all those awesome Christmas movies without wondering what's it like to be in the cold. Do you know how awkward it must be for those in the warm tropics to watch Home Alone?
  • You'll appreciate Thanksgiving so much more when you finally into a warm home with the best food of the year.
  • Great excuse to go to family events wearing the ugliest yet comfiest clothes. Nobody's going to question your grandma sweater; it's 15 degrees after all.
Well there's my five reasons - agree or disagree? Until next time everyone.
