And then there's rain.

Maybe there is this thing called "seasons". If anyone has taken notice today there is a beautiful guarantee of rain all week this week and you know what that means - Spring. Spring is the caregiver and provider of the great rain that we need for our Earth to be planted and cleansed with (whatever floats your boat). So, let's have a toast to Spring - maybe not sunshine but instead with a little watering over our spirits.

Do any of you enjoy the rain? Or are we going to mop around because the sun refuses to call us back? Let me know in the comments below.

Change of Direction.

Hello Hello Hello.

It has been a while since I last wrote & I'll tell you why: Spring. As you all probably are aware of, we are officially in the season of spring. Yes,  it is going to tomorrow, second week into spring. Yes, it snowed the first day of spring. Yes, we are not in the 50s or 60s.

Yes, we all know and understand. Spring technically is here, but she has not unleashed her nature bliss yet.

As you know this blog is about winter and my love for the cold weather, but even I, enjoy a bit of warm weather from time to time and when I heard spring was here, I was excited. Just like any other person, I was ready to put away boots and just take out my sandals. (Sandals are basically the only part I love just for the record.)

AKA ME.

Because of spring's time, I was going to change the direction of my blog, but spring really hasn't arrived. So now, I'm kind of stuck - how that's for a writer's block?Tell me now - are you going mad from the absurdness that this weather has done for us? Or you are still sane and waiting patiently on the flowers to arrive? Please let me know down below.

As always, stay warm.

The real MVP this winter.

As American society says "we sometimes take the little things for granted." There is nothing more truer than that for your boots this winter. Your boots have been your shield, your protector, your warrior, your most trusted companion, your personal feet heater, basically the love of your life this looooong winter.

They deserve your love and more dear respect, because they are the most valued player this season.

Mines? I have a few thankfully not giving a tough job just to one little pair. I have three that all share responsibility and work during the toughest of times for different situations. And I love each equally.

First: UGG . Black with zipper. These are typically sleek and I've had mines for about 4 years, going strong.

Disclaimer: This picture is not mine, mines are actually being heated up because they have been running through puddles all morning. This is from Google and a really great picture, kudos to owner.

Second: UGG Snowboots. The daddy of snow and boots. 3 years and still heavy duty.

Disclaimer: This picture is not mine. This is from Google and a really great picture, kudos to owner.

Third: Clarks women leather boots. Now these are my best combination : cute & functional. The color is not the same but it is indeed the same style.

What boots have you been your MVP this winter? Let me know down in the comments! Stay warm.

Freeze with a smile New Yorkers.

Hello everyone and of course Happy Valentine's day! Although it is a day of love laughter and warmth the weather outside begs to differ, but that doesn't mean you can't have a great time even in the single digits.

If you're looking for a fun activity today in the city (New York City, fyi) there's the 4th annual ice festival in Central Park. Completely free to see some great ice scuplting experts create romantic pieces from the park from 3pm to 7pm and then to end it off with a silent DJ 1980's live music party with some incredible colors shining off the night.

Not bad huh? (Just an example of how cool ice can be.)

The entrance will be at 75street and 5avenue. If anybody goes, let me know in the comments below.

Your Pick Me Up.

Everyone needs one, no matter how little or often you get it - at some point you need it.

So today, in honor of today's snowed in activity for the Northeastern people, here's a list of why snow is good.

1. It cleans and preps soil for great planting.

Whether you believe it or not, snow actually is a great thing for farmers and those who love to plant a lot. The snow acts as cleaner for soil and maintainance for its usage. Without the snow it can actually hurt soil from freezing its great usage and then causing issues for spring planting and growing. If the soil is bad and the planting goes well, we all suffer from it.

2. It is absolutely beautiful.

No denying that a white thick blanket over the streets, trees, grass, mountains is quite stunning and is unlike anything else in this world.

Here's my current view!

3. There's plenty to do.

Sounds counter active to the whole staying-at-home-deal but with kids, pets and enthusiastic parents, the snow can provide a lot of fun. Building snowmans, forts, snowball fights, sledding, snow angels theres endless you can do honestly and most of it won't be available until next winter.

4. No school. No work.

This may not apply to everyone but everyone does know that there's always the opportunity to stay at home and have an off day if there's snow. Blizzard on its way? Can't take your car. Storm's coming? Can't take public transportation. Streets are filled? Can't go and walk. Woke up late? Everything's cancelled. I would say this is a definite plus. And even if you do end up at work or school - there's so little people or activity its kind of off day. Great benefits no matter what.

5.  Cheap stuff = better economy.

When there's a snow blow out around your area, there's less activity therefore prices go down for a lot of things which means you can go and get stuff for a much lower price than you would on a normal day. Lots of people take advantage of this and you can too if you don't mind going out.

Here's my list! Anything I'm missing? How's your time with the snow? Let me know down below in the comments and remember to follow for great posts on dealing with cold weather.

Perfection's way.

Lately, there's been around 40 degree weather chilling and although that's still enough to carry a jacket it's a whole lot warmer than we've been used to. Does 40 degree weather excite us for weather that will not be here until the next 3 months? Or is it mother nature playing a cruel trick and make people hate the chills?

Not going to lie this is my idea of perfect winter:

What is your idea of a perfect winter? Let me know:)

Until next post, stay warm. Photo from Google, not mine.

Push Yourself.

Today is Monday. Today is raining. Today is not the day you say. But as a productive, driven person living in the never-sleeping-city, I know that the weather is no excuse not to get something done.

The winter season is known greatly just to chill out, sleep in, drink a great hot cup of your favorite liquid and take it easy. Although that is not the reality and things have to go on - besides if no one worked how are you going to get your food delivered tonight? (Gotcha.)

I can be honest and say that I have done quite a few things today and am perfectly happy with it.
With a cup of coffee, a little prayer and a driven attitude anything is possible.

What motivates you to work in tough weather? Is the winter the season of laziness? How do you push yourself? Let me know.
