If you're looking for a fun activity today in the city (New York City, fyi) there's the 4th annual ice festival in Central Park. Completely free to see some great ice scuplting experts create romantic pieces from the park from 3pm to 7pm and then to end it off with a silent DJ 1980's live music party with some incredible colors shining off the night.
Not bad huh? (Just an example of how cool ice can be.)
